Feeds & activations

The two ways to receive a segment — scheduled feeds and activations — and how delivery status works.

Once you’ve chosen a segment, there are two ways to receive it on an ongoing basis: feeds and activations. Both are managed in the partner portal.

Feeds

A feed delivers a segment on a schedule. Provision one from a segment in the catalog and it appears under Feeds with live delivery status — so you can see the last run and whether it succeeded. Feeds are the simplest way to keep a segment fresh in your own systems.

Activations

An activation pushes a segment toward a destination for downstream use. Manage them under Activations in the portal, each with its own status.

Destinations

Available destinations depend on your agreement and what’s provisioned for your account — check the Activations screen for the current options. If you need a destination that isn’t listed, talk to your AskThis contact.

Checking status

Both feeds and activations report delivery status in the portal, and you can query feed status over the API (GET /data/v1/feeds/:id/status). See Data Platform API access.

Usage from feeds and activations is metered idempotently — re-delivery of the same data doesn’t double-charge. See Pricing, metering & invoices.
