Catalog & segments

How the segment catalog is organized, what a segment is, and how size and freshness are reported.

The Catalog in the partner portal is the menu of available audiences and signals. This explains how it’s structured so you can find the right one.

What a segment is

A segment is an audience defined by page type × platform — for example, people who used an “Ask AI” button on product pages via ChatGPT. Each segment is derived from real ask-and-share behavior across publishers and materialized in the warehouse.

Alongside segments, intent signals aggregate interest by topic and page type — the “what people ask AI about” view that’s unique to AskThis.

Reading a catalog entry

Every catalog entry shows:

  • Definition — the page type and platform (and any additional facets).
  • Size — the current cohort count, stamped from the live warehouse.
  • Freshness — when it was last rebuilt.

Both size and freshness are real values from the pipeline, not estimates. Segments below the k-anonymity floor are never listed.

Open a segment for detail

A segment’s detail page shows its exact definition, size, freshness, and the rate that applies to your account. From there you pull it via a feed or the API — see Access your first segment.

What you’ll never see

The catalog only exposes aggregated, pseudonymous audiences. Raw events, individual profiles, and PII are structurally excluded — see Consent & k-anonymity.
